Alice in Christmasland!

Alice in Christmasland!

Alice in Christmasland! by sarahisofficial

I love Christmas! I love the scents, the colors, and the joy that comes with this holiday! I especially love the outfits! Bright reds, forest greens, and silvery whites! Today, we went to Target and they had these glitter gift boxes in every color, I about died! Sorry, random moment I just had to share, ha. Anyways, in this look it was all about color! Red! One of the most known holiday colors is red, and it's bright and beautiful, I love it to the moon and back! I love the red, Mary Jane platforms, aren't they gorgeous! It's the height of them that sweeps me away into my personal wonderland, ha ha. The red headband just tops of the red look with a cute, feminine twist. If all of the red is too much, a nice green or maybe a silver would work with this outfit. I would also totally pair this look with white tights.

Hope you all enjoy this Alice in Christmasland look! Good luck with your holiday shopping, festivities, and love!

Sitting at home with my heater on full blast, Sarah. Xx.

Holiday Makeup!

Holiday Makeup!

Holiday Makeup! by sarahisofficial

Christmas is fast approaching with only 26 days away now! I figured I could do a makeup theme that centers around the worlds' favorite holiday. A lot of the colors in this set are very Christmasey! Gold, silver, red, basically, a whole lot of fun and magical colors! I hope you all enjoy the looks and have a happy December!

Violent Lips Lip Tattoos!

Today, I am going to blog about my opinion and thoughts on this crazy, but fun makeup trend! This trend is Violent Lips Lip Tattoos! You'll see stars wearing these all over the place, (The Kardashians, etc.) Look at some of these babies!

The last ones, worn by Jessie J, are completely edgy and crazy, but so much fun! I personally would probably not wear them because I would be fearful of hurting myself, haha, but I would wear all of the other ones! These babies are an eccentric trend, but any fashionista could pull them off!

Hope you have a wonderful Monday full of love, laughter, and light. I hope you're able to get back into the groove of things before we are once again swallowed by the whimsical holiday that us Americans call Christmas, that's right, not "Xmas," "Christmas."

Snuggled in jammies, about to do an art project, Sarah. Xx.

Pumpkin Pie Cheesecake!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! My weekend was full of movies, music videos, and thoughts of "If I had a lot of money I would..." haha. In the midst of all of that fun, I was able to make a pumpkin pie cheesecake. Now, unfortunately I wasn't able to take a photo of it because the batteries on my camera died. :( So, I had to find one on the internet that looks a lot like how mine turned out.

Recipe:

Serves 8.

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

2 eggs.
2 8 oz. packages of cream cheese.
1/2 cup of sugar.
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
1 can of pumpkin puree.
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon.
1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg.
Ready made graham cracker pie crust.

First, mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract in one bowl. After smooth, add in eggs one at a time until blended. Second, set out graham cracker crust and pour half of the cream cheese mixture onto the bottom of the crust, spreading it thinly across the bottom. Then, you can add in a cup of pumpkin puree, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix until smooth. Once smooth you can pour this mixture onto the top of the first layer of the pumpkin pie cheesecake. Spread evenly.

Put into oven for 45 minutes. Once it has been baked for 45 minutes, put into refrigerator for 3 hours.

Then, enjoy with whipped cream and family!

It should turn out to look like something like this:

Hope you like this recipe! It is really yummy and my family loved it!

Sarah. Xx.

For all of you who have lost someone:

I would like to give a special shoutout to all of the people here on my friends list that have lost somebody close to them. When you lose someone close, whether it be a grandparents, a parent, a sibling, an aunt or an uncle, maybe even a daughter or son, it hurts. People tell you that as time goes on it gets easier...as somebody that has lost two people very close to her, I can tell you that's not... always true. Somedays it feels like your scabbed is ripped away from you and all of this pain floods back in, and I can almost promise you on holidays and birthday those scabs are more likely to open. It also makes you realize what really matters in life, and little fights just aren't worth it. Family, and friends matter. Not money, not tvs. So, for those of you who have lost somebody who you absolutely loved and adored, my heart goes out to you. Just know that all of your hurting hearts are in my prayers and I hope your hearts fill with love and healing. Sarah. Xx. ♥

It Was Black Friday, Friday.

And ya gotta get down on Black Friday. Ha. I was apart of what looked like this. ^^^

So, last night or early morning (?) was my first experience with Black Friday shopping. I went to Target with my friend Brittany, my mom, my sister, and my younger brother. Brittany was the only one with money (sad I know) so we helped her get a few items from the Black Friday madness. We ended up going shopping last minute, at dinner actually we were talking about how crazy Black Friday shoppers are and within an hour or so we became them, strange I know. Anyways around 11:00 we arrived at Target and ended up standing in a line that wrapped allllll the way around the building, and I am not exaggerating. I didn't even know our tow had that many people in it...
Anyways, we stood in line for about 50+ minutes and we tagged along, slowly making our way to the front of Target, where a huge mobbed stood, people slowly snuck in with the line, those cheaters! So we finally got in, grabbed a cart and went crazy!! Just kidding, we went shopping...and crazy at the same time. There were people everywhere, luckily I was not pushed or shoved or ran over or any painful stuff like that. Thank goodness! The worst thing about Black Friday: Having to stand in line forever. Another bad thing about Black Friday: When you have no money and you're helping your friend get all of these amazing deals. Not fun...ha. It was a good experience though, Target was very well organized and with how packed the store was the cashiers still had smiles on their faces. I plan on going Black Friday shopping again, except next time planning more, and actually having money! Hope you all had great Thanksgivings and safe Black Fridays!

Thanksgiving Thursday.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I hope all of you are able to have the best and most wonderful of times with your friends and families. Make tons of great memories, smile and laugh, and be reminded what you're thankful for. In all honesty we joke about how much we're going to love the food, and how we may not be too excited about seeing certain relatives. Thanksgiving is more than the food and how aw...kward it may be to sit across from someone who you may not like, it's about being thankful for what God has blessed you with. So please, forget about all of the drama that bringing a big family together may make, and just smile and realize how blessed you truly are. How great of a country we live in, how God has blessed us all with the Earth walking Angels in our lives, and for love. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. ♥

What I Will Be Doing This Thanksgiving:

Waking up and watching the Macys' Thanksgiving Parade.
Watch Elf. (Love that movie! It makes me laugh everytime!)
Get ready to go to family friends house.
Have dinner with family friends and enjoy the evening.
Come home, relax, watch the classic Peanuts movies.
And last but not least, take a moment to mentally list the things and wonderful Earth walking Angels that I have been blessed to know.

Also, I would love to take a moment to give a huge THANK YOU! to the men and women that are working overseas to guard our lives and our freedom. They have all sacrificed so much, and spending Thanksving with their families is one of their sacrifices. So, I have a great love for the military men and women and thank you all so much!

Thank you also to God. You are such a great God, and thank you for sending Your Son to us, so we could be forgiven. Thank you Lord Jesus.

With a heart the size of a watermelon right now, Sarah. Xx.

Winter Wears!

Trends For The Colder Weather:

It's now the time of the year where if you walk around wearing shorts and a tee shirt people will think you are crazy. The fact is, you actually are. Here are a few trends for the colder weather:

1) Super cute character beanies! (Hello Kitty!)
2) UGG Boots!
3) Hot red peacoats!
4) Hand warmers!
5) Justin Biebers' new single, Mistletoe.

So, this fall/winter if you're trying to stay warm (or entertained) just pick up these 5 items and rock them, or if you buy item #5, dance to it, sing it to your significant other, or just completely ignore it all together. Hope you guys have a happy holiday this Thanksgiving!

Wrapped in my blankie because it's cold, Sarah. Xx.

What Annoys Me:

UC Davis protestors that ignore the fact that cops ask them to leave or they'll be arrested and then when they're pepper-sprayed and arrested they complain and whine to their rich parents. Then, they get lawyers involved who seem to have the equivalent IQ of a five year old. Those kids get a good quality education that my parents would never get the money to get me. So, those kids need to get to class, stop complaining, and realize they are getting nothing done my violently protesting. And yes, these protests have become violent even if they say it is a 'peaceful protest.' Last time I checked, it isn't very peaceful throwing bottles at cops heads or damaging any innocent buisnesses that may be in the path of the protestors destructive natures. Maybe it's just me feeling this way, but I highly doubt it.

Peace, Love, And More Peace, Sarah. Xx.

Nailing Nail Trends!

This past week I finally painted my nails after months of not painting my nails at all. The thing is I am way too hard on my nails, cleaning, showering daily, and picking them when bored. So, I rarely paint my nails and there's no point in paying to have them done when they're ruined in a few days. I decided to look at a few nail trends and share my feelings about them.

1) Different Colored Nails.

I love this trend! This is one of my personal favorites, my nails are actually painted like this: green, white, green, white, green. Love them like this.

2) Long Nails.

I don't mind long nails, but when it gets excessive, it's crazy. Not only can long nails be a pain, stabbing people with them, not being able to do certain things. Not too long, and you'll be fine.

3) Pointed Nails.

Pointed nails can be cool if you're in costume. In reality however, it looks like you have claws. I personally would not wear these but they can be cool.

4) Character Nails.

Character nails are the funnest type of nails you can have! I love character nails! I think they're fun, quirky, and have a lot of personality!

To A Very Happy Weekend, Sarah. Xx.

Simple Mask.

Being a teenager, I'm prone to acne and so are a lot of people I know, even if they aren't teenagers. I've shelled out tons of money to different sets of facial cleanser systems and they haven't accomplished the results I was expecting. So, I decided to do a little research and find a natural, cheap mask. Thus, I cam upon a mask that has done wonders for my skin. It's the baking soda mask. It's quick, easy, cheap, and produces good results! To be honest, I was a little sketchy about but after a few days and a handful of compliments on a difference in my skin later, I've decided to stick to this mask.

These are the ingredients you need:
A spoonful of baking soda.
Water.

Pour the spoonful of baking soda into a bowl (I use a condiment dish, it's the perfect size) and then pour in enough water just to cover the baking soda. Then mix lightly until it turns into a type of paste.

Then wet your face and apply the paste in a circular motion. Then rinse off.

TIP: Make sure you rinse well or else the mask will make your skin really dry.

Fall Favorites!

I've been meaning to make this blog within the past few days but first I needed to get all my fall favorites together! Fall is definitely one of my favorite times of year. When it's fall you get to break out your favorite cozy sweater, warm blankets, and hot chocolate. What's better than sitting home when it's raining outside, drinking hot chocolate and reading a good book? Ideal situation. So, to toast to fall I created a fall favorites list. Enjoy! :)

I love all of these things even if it isn't fall, but there's something about fall that makes all of these wonderful items even more magical.

What are your fall favorites?

With the magic of fall, Sarah. Xx.

Gotta Get Down On Friday.

I don't know if you guys do this, but everyday until Friday, I think exactly what the zebra and giraffe are thinking in this photo. I hope you guys had a great week with lots of love and accomplishments. I hope the weekend is even better for you. Rest while you have the time because Thanksgiving is quickly approaching. We all know what that means, wake up early to start cooking, multitasking times a million, and trying to get your turkey to taste the best. Well, that's not how mine is going to be, another family invited us over and they're cooking everything. Call me wise for accepting...I know. I know how to work the system. Ha. Happy Friday!

Apple Pie.

Ingredients

Serves 8.
  • 1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 8 Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored and sliced

Directions

  1. Melt butter in a sauce pan. Stir in flour to form a paste. Add white sugar, brown sugar and water; bring to a boil. Reduce temperature, and simmer 5 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, place the bottom crust in your pan. Fill with apples, mounded slightly. Cover with a lattice work crust. Gently pour the sugar and butter liquid over the crust. Pour slowly so that it does not run off.
  3. Bake 15 minutes at 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Reduce the temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and continue baking for 35 to 45 minutes.
To get extra flair top your apple pie with vanilla ice cream, whip cream, or other fruits.

I get a lot of my recipes from http://www.allrecipes.com/. It's a public site where people can share family recipes, and photos that you want to eat right up! Literally...

I Was Thinking.

And came up with a great idea. Everyday I'm a little iffy on what exactly to write about so I came up with a form of a schedule. Organiazation and structure is good, so I though this was a really good idea. Hopefully my readers think it is as well! Here goes:

Monday Meltdowns - A day to talk about an event going on in the world, whether it be politics, fashion, etc. Basically just my opinion on something that is currently happening.

Tuesday Trends - I will share some of the newest and hottest of the trends in makeup, fashion, hairstyles, home decoration, etc.

Wednesday Wears - A set up of (How To:) or a collection of fashion/makeup.

Thursday Toppings - Thursdays will be a recipe sharing day!

Friday Funnies - A day that will enlighten your heart and make you smile. I might share a joke, a funny photo, or maybe even a funny story of my own. =)

Saturday & Sunday Surprises - Just little random notes, thoughts, or extra baggage from the week. (Ex. I might have an extra recipe to share, or maybe a funny story)

So, I hope you all like that idea. It would be easier for me to plan and thoroughly create a good blog post. Today we start with Thursday Toppings! (You guys have been bombarded with a lot of recipes this week already! Sorry!)

Pretty In Pink!

Pretty In Pink!

Pretty In Pink! by sarahisofficial featuring

Light pink is easily one of my favorite colors in makeup and clothing. Something about the light, airiness of it just looks so pretty. Whether it's on your dress, or your lips, or maybe even as your blush, it's just so pretty! It's not overwhelming, and gives just the right amount of color. Above are a few examples of how to wear light pink.

Winter Makeup!

All of us girls have our own obsessions over things, one of my obsessions is makeup. I love home makeup can empower you. It can make you shine inside and out. Makeup for winter, spring, summer, and fall are all different. In spring/summer your makeup may be a little more bright and colorful, while fall/winter makeup may be a bit more toned down. I personally go for more neutral colors during the winter. I live by the colors grey, brown, and silver. And for my lips, chapstick is a must! My lips dry and crack easy, so that is not fun! I have however seen girls walking around in the middle of winter with firehouse red lips and darkly lined eyelids. With a black peacoat, that look is hot, I must admit. But let's be honest, how many people are able to pull that off in the middle of December? Not me! Hahaha. I can barely get myself to roll out of bed to even get dressed let alone pile on makeup, ha. So here are a few looks for winter makeup. First, the light coloring. Second, the edgier look.

Monday Baking & Update!

Hello dolls! My sister Tori and I are going to bake the rest of this day away! We're doing deep dish brownies and classic peanut butter cookies! You can find the recipe to the classic peanut butter cookie recipe inder my baking recipe section, and I'm going to add the deep dish brownie recipe into that section later. My sister is making the deep dish brownies for her and my brother and I'm making the peanut butter cookies for my dad and I. My mom will eat anything, hahaha. I like brownies, I just like them every now and then. Most of the time they're too sweet for me, and I like sweets but not overbearing sweets. So, I will post photos later! It may take a couple hours until it's all done and over. The brownies are first and then comes the peanut butter cookies! YUM!

UPDATE:
Peanut Butter Cookies

Chocolate Brownies

Sorry, I couldn't take a photo of the brownies before they were devoured by my family! Hahaha. My dad is currently downing the peanut butter cookies (his favorites.) I'm happy this baking session was successful. The next baking session we will have will be on Thanksgiving when I make pumpkin pie cheesecake! YUM! So tune in 10 days from now for a new baking post!

Until Then...Cookies, Brownies, and Love, Sarah. Xx.

How To: Wear A Dress In The Fall!

How To: Wear A Dress In The Fall!

How To: Wear A Dress In The Fall! by sarahisofficial

All of us girls love wearing a nice dress, okay, maybe not all of us. Haha. Dresses are nice to have when going to a special event, on a date, or just to feel pretty in. However, it can be difficult to wear a dress in the fall or winter though. So here's a way to wear a dress during the cold days of the year. First, try getting a long-sleeved dress, or a 3/4 sleeved dress. Then, get a nice pair of tights that coordinate with your dress. After that, you can pair your dress with a nice coat, and warm boots! Now you can still wear a dress to a fall date!

Clothing Items In Set:

Dress - $24. (H&M)
Coat - $56. (H&M)
Tights - $53. (net-a-porter.com)
Boots - $48. (H&M)
Heart Necklace - $4.75. (Forever 21)
BDG Belt - $20. (Urban Outfitters)

Sweater Dresses, Tights, and Boots, Sarah. Xx.

Dresses!

Now that it's fall, dress wearing has become slim, sadly. I personally love dresses. They make a girl feel pretty, they twirl, and they come out with the cutest summer dresses. I love fall, but not being able to wear dresses is definitely a downfall. You can wear dresses if you have the proper tight or leggings, but none of my tights or leggings go to my dresses. Plus, I get really cold even if I'm wearing layers in the fall. Looking at these pretty dresses makes me appreciate the warm weather of late spring and summer. But for now, I will appreciate the fall weather while it's here. Fall means I can sit in my pajamas with a fire going, and watching Home Alone for the millionth time. (I love that movie.) So, as us dress lovers cry for our dresses, let's appreciate our jeans and scarves shall we?

Cupcakes!

Yum! Look at these scrumptious little guys that I made this evening! They were a HIT here at my house! They're chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese frosting! I'm also taking them to a potluck I committed to tomorrow. Unfortunately, I found out I have Strep Throat (Ick!) so it hurts to swallow so I was only able to try the frosting, which was yummy! The recipe can be found under my baking section! It's from the amazing makeup artist Kandee Johnson! Hope you enjoy this recipe as much as my family did!

This recipe makes 24 cupcakes!

What You'll Need For Cupcake Batter:
2 cups of flour.
2 cups of sugar.
3/4 cups of ground cocoa.
2 tsp. of baking soda.
2 eggs.
1 tsp. of salt.
3/4 cups of milk. (I used half n half)
1/4 a cup of whipping cream.
1 1/2 tsp. of vanilla extract.
1 cup of canola oil.
1 cup of boiling water. (Measure about 1 1/2 because of the evaporation from the stove!)

What You'll Need For Cream Cheese Frosting:
8 oz. of cream cheese.
1 stick of butter. (The butter I bought came into fourths, so I just used two of those.)
1 1/4 cup of powdered confectioners sugar.
1/4 cup of whipping cream.

RECIPE:
First, preheat your oven to 300 degrees.
Then, pour your 2 cups of sugar into the bowl, and then mix in your cup of boiling hot water. Stir until it has the consistency of maple syrup.
TIP: Do not spill the water! It is verrry sticky! My sister spilled some of mine last night, not fun to clean up! Super messy!
After you're through mixing the sugar water, set it aside.
Now, start mixing all of the cupcake batter ingredients.
Once you are done mixing all of those ingredients very well, pour in the sugar water. Now go ahead and mix all together until smooth.
Pop the cupcake batter into cupcake pans, and bake for about 30-35 minutes.
While you're waiting for those lovely cupcake babies to come out, you can go ahead and start on your cream cheese frosting!
Just go ahead and mix all of the ingredients to the cream cheese frosting together and store in the fridge until the cupcakes are done!
Wait until the cupcakes are cool, until you put on the frosting! Or else it will melt into a white and stick mess! Ick!

Now, all you have to do is sit back and enjoy your yummy cupcakes! Yay!

Peace, Love, and Cupcakes, Sarah. Xx.

I NEED:

  • A new camera!
  • A video camera!
&
  • My own laptop!
Especially if I'm going to start taking this blog seriously! I would love to create videos and take photos of things that I see everyday (how exciting! ha)
But the camera I have now, is about 2 and 1/2 years old and just doesn't work as good as I need it to. Plus it sucks batteries like crazy! I don't know what kind it is, all I know is it's a GE. My parents bought it for my 15th birthday, so of course they weren't going to get me an expensive one, I was only 15. Hopefully, I'll get a job soon and will be able to buy all of my own supplies! I really like the Canon collection. As for a laptop, I would like a HP or a an Apple computer. I currently have a Toshiba (which I share with 4 other people) and Toshibas are not all that great! They slow down, freeze, and crash really easily. We used to own another Toshiba and it only lasted for about a year. So here I sit in my living room with donettes, orange juice, and sniffles and gaze at all the different cameras, video cameras, and laptops electronic stores have to offer, haha.

Here are the cameras I like:

Camera: http://www.frys.com/product/6084888?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

Sadly, they didn't have the camera at Target or at Walmart, so I went to my favorite electronics store, Frys. Frys is a very cool store. The one that I live close to has a train coming out of the front of it, like it's crashing through the building! Hahaha. Then, on the inside it's set up like a train depot, and even has it's own cafe! How cool is that! All inside an electronics store!

Camcorder: http://www.target.com/p/Canon-Vixia-HF-M41-Flash-Memory-Camcorder-5116B003-with-10x-Optical-Zoom-Black/-/A-13693090

Ahh! They're 38% off at Target right now! If only I could get my hands on an extra $500! Hahaha.

Laptop: http://www.target.com/p/HP-Pavillion-17-3-Laptop-PC-g7-1150us-with-640GB-Hard-Drive-4GB-Memory-Gray/-/A-13668130

HPs are good laptops that aren't excessively expensive. I firmly believe in the saying: "You get what you pay for." If you buy a computer that's $200 and then look at a computer that is $2,000, you're going to see quite a lot of substantial differences. So, HPs are good computers, I approve!

Laptop I Would Prefer: http://www.frys.com/product/6233300?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

Well, we all can dream can't we? Hahaha.
